Code and Cipher Guide

In CORE Deception, a key part of the plot is a coded method of communication used by someone (I won’t say who right now). Think cipher, not computer code. It’s briefly explained in the book so you can follow along without being confused. But wouldn’t you love to learn how the ciphers worked so you could do it yourself? Same with the codes used in Association and CORE Deception?

This is your digital guide to all the tidbits and little things for fans of CORE Deception. It reveals the nuances, tidbits, interesting details, connections, references to other stories, allusions to inspirations, brief mentions of deleted scenes or early drafts—the scene- and paragraph-level stuff. It’s probably not too different from the trivia you’d learn watching a DVD commentary for a feature-length movie.

Includes two CORE Deception deleted scenes: Krystin Makes The Rounds and Coffee Shop Tail.

Deleted Scene Set: Interrogation

This sequence of deleted scenes come from an early draft of CORE Deception in which Jhalak brings in Seth and Krystin for questioning. It would have taken place in the first 25% of CORE Deception.

I did a quick cleanup of the pages, but keep in mind they haven’t experienced the same level of polish as a published novel. Some spoilers if you haven’t yet read CORE Deception.

Deleted Scene: Underground Park

This deleted scene comes from one of the earliest drafts of CORE Deception. It takes place in a giant underground park, a setting that didn’t make it into the final version of the novel. Still, it was fun to write, and I think you’ll enjoy reading about Krystin and her siblings. Perhaps you’ll even notice a few aspects that worked their way into CORE Deception or Association.
